COMBIVERT H6: New multi-axis drive system from KEB

With COMBIVERT H6 KEB actively enters into the market of the multi-axis applications. The solution from the company in Barntrup/Germany combines single-axis and multi-axis controllers, supply modules, regenerating units, motors, efficient cooling concepts and motion-control-functions to an innovative and efficiently operating drive system for applications with rated outputs up to 160 kW.

Mechanical engineers ? for example from the industry sectors robotics and handling, packaging, logistics as well as wood, metal and plastics ? profit from this well thought-out total solution in many ways. The extremely compact and slim cut design of the modules, that fit snugly into the control cabinet, saves valuable installation space. With the integrated intermediate circuit coupling DC-interconnections can be realized very comfortably and fast. This is accompanied by reduced wiring and installation expenditure and decreasing assembly costs ? also a consequence of the continuously identical connection technology. In the engineering COMBIVERT H6 scores with its central operating concept for the total interconnected operation.

The control module is equipped with a high-performance 32-bit-CPU. The unit can be ? based on the CoDeSys 3.2 ?programmed in the languages of IEC 61131-3 and can take over PLC and motion-control-functions as well as NC-tasks. As fieldbus master COMBIVERT H6 control module is fitted with an EtherCAT-Master. A standard Ethernet-Interface is available for the local operation.

Another technological highlight represents the integrated safety technique. KEB offers two variants for it. Module 1 guarantees the safe disconnection of the supply voltage without additional software and offers the functions ?Safe Torque Off? (STO) and ?Safe Brake Control? (SBC). The second variant has safe inputs, a safe disconnection and a redundant microcontroller structure. With this module safety functions like safe operating stop (SOS), safe stop (SS1 and SS2) as well as safe speed reduction (SLS) can be realized.
